Denver is one of the best cities on the planet to live in and there are lots of things to do and see. But in such a big city, the difference from neighborhood to neighborhood can be colossal. As a result, if you choose to live in Denver, you also need to put a lot of thought into the neighborhood you live in.

While there are many good choices, one of the best definitely has to be LoDo (Lower Downtown). This article will take a look at some of the reasons why this neighborhood is at the top of so many peoples’ list as one of the most desirable places to live in all of Denver.

One of the biggest benefits of residing in LoDo is your proximity to a variety of different great restaurants. In total, there are almost 100 restaurants in the area and no matter what you feel like eating, there will be something in the area to check out. Most are also within walking distance or a short cab ride at most. Also, there is ample parking and bus services in case you’d prefer to save money over taking a cab.

And while sometimes you might want to just sit at home and eat bulk chocolates , sometimes, you want to come out and enjoy the delicious eats you can get at the Pig and the Sprout and other restaurants. While the neighborhood and it’s restaurants can get busy, there are enough tasty spots in the neighborhood to always be able to find somewhere less busy.

A Lively Nightlife

If you are a college student or a young professional who likes to go out to the bars and clubs on the weekend, there is arguably no better place to live than in LoDo. It is a very active and thriving neighborhood, so there are always cool things to do and see, most nights of the week.

While technically anyone could go to the nightclubs and bars here, cab rides to the outskirts of Denver can be pricey, so many who live here love the quick rides home from a night out.

It is An Art and Culture Lovers Dream

If you are a big fan of art, it is hard to beat LoDo in terms of things to do and see. The neighborhood is full of over 20 different art galleries, with many different styles represented. And with many galleries changing their exhibits and what they put on display, there will always be new things to view and visit.

In addition to art galleries, sports fans will feel right at home in this neighborhood. It is home to Coors Field, and an ample amount of sports bars to watch all the different sporting events you enjoy most. It is also only a few minutes away from Mile High Stadium, if you feel like seeing one of the best and most famous stadiums in the NFL.

It’s History and Architecture

LoDo is the absolute oldest neighborhood in all of Denver and as a result, there is a ton of history in the area. Because of this, some of the buildings there are incredibly old and scenic, and each street is a little bit different from the next. Simply walking throughout the neighborhood is gorgeous, and there will be times you think to yourself “wow, I cannot believe I live here”.

Also, because it’s a mixed-use neighborhood, there are a ton of different types of architecture. There are old shops, newly renovated restaurants and bars, old warehouse, and a variety of different residential buildings.

In conclusion, these are just a few of the many different reasons why living in LoDo is one of the best neighborhood choices in the city of Denver. Sure, it is expensive, but if you can afford it, you are near just about everything you could ever ask for, in one of the most beautiful cities in the entire country.
